Latin Fusion @ Marion Cultural Alliance

Latin Fusion is a group of independent artists with one thing in common, once art students of accomplished artist/teacher and Ocala local, Maritza Lopez. Now each immersed in other branches of art throughout the state of Florida, come together with their exhibit, Latin Fusion to showcase their latest works.

Through the years. this group of artists created a special artistic bond and friendship. This is their first exhibit together and it will not disappoint. These artists have many different styles and technique, however are connected by a common thread, their passion for creating breathtaking work and their love for art cultivated by their once teacher and now colleague in the arts.

FEATURED ARTISTS:

Martiza Lopez, Cuban-American painter, designer and art teacher. She is an artist who defends aesthetics and expresses her reality through the use of color and texture. She has participated in numerous art exhibitions. Both collective and individual, inside and outside of the USA.

Oscar de la Portilla, Cuban painter, goldsmith, ceramist, and fashion designer. Four times the best designer FIAT(International Abana Art Fair) and Lifetime Achievement Award, the highest award given by the Cuban Fund of Cultural Assets and exhibiting as a local artists for the first time.

Lilia R. Smith, Cuban-American artist and recognized fashion designer and local. She has exhibited her paintings in local galleries and was invited by the Editorial Ego Group to present a colloquium at Books and Books about her career trajectory. She is inspired by painters such as Georgia O’Keefe, Wassily Kandinsky and Helen Frankenthaler and her love of beauty.

Franklin J. Martin, Cuban-American painter and photographer. First Vice-president of the Cove Rincon International Organization. As a photographer, he is mainly inspired in landscapes and still life paintings.

Nancy Gonzalez, Cuban-American painter. She has donated some of her paintings to Casa Bacardi, University of Miami and the Institute of Cuban-American Studies. Accomplished in ceramics, as well.

Analy Silva, born in Venezuela and local Floridian. Any’s work is inspired in personal transformation, and reflects the need to realize, reconnect and re-learn that the true state of being is inner peace.
