Show Motel Artist Collective is an alternative art show made up of a group of artists who rent a room in a motel in Ocala and transform it into their gallery space.
This model is based on the Nadadada Motel Art Shows in Reno, started as a revolt against corporate sponsorship and a venue for artists with no dictates.
We’re excited to welcome Show Motel Artist Collective to the Brick. Please join us for a month filled with Florida artists who with a distinctive and “avant-garde” vision.
Shows are open during regular business hours at Marion Cultural Alliance.
After 4 years of consecutive growth, Ride for the Arts is again gearing up for another record breaking year. As in prior years, the combination of a dynamic host city, an amazingly scenic route, and competitive timed segments rewarded with cash and other prizes presents an irresistible combination to cyclists both within the state, and even international attendees.
Just as we’ve had in prior years, we have routes that will appeal to all levels of cyclists: the full 70 mile Gran Fondo, the 40 mile Medio, and the 11 mile Piccolo, which is perfect for beginner riders.
The routes for our ride were chosen specifically to highlight all of the beauty of Ocala and Marion County. While all routes leave from downtown, the longer routes head straight into horse country, presenting both challenging rolling hills and beautiful horse farms for cyclists to enjoy. For these Gran Fondo and Medio riders,
Top View Sports will again be handling the timing for those who wish to challenge themselves and others through the timed segments of the ride. Meanwhile, the shorter Piccolo route roams through Historic Ocala and passes Ft. King, offering even beginner riders classic Ocala scenery to enjoy along the way. We received amazing feedback on our routes last year and we plan to continue that trend again for 2019. Upon return from each route, riders will be greeted with a catered lunch and beer garden, a busy vendor expo, live entertainment, and great door prizes upon completion of their respective rides.
Because we’ve been able to showcase the best of Ocala and Marion County, the Ride for the Arts has quickly become one of the premiere rides in the state and a destination for both casual and competitive cyclists alike. Your registration not only provides you with a great cycling experience, it also helps to further the goal of MCA in promoting culture and the arts within our community. Presented by the City of Ocalal with partial support from the Ocala/Marion County Tourism Development Council.

Going to New Heights to Support the Arts!
Some organizations hold silent auctions, but Marion Cultural Alliance is not the silent type. Instead, MCA is offering supporters and thrill seekers the adventure of a life-time: going OVER THE EDGE of a seven story building-Ocala’s newest and hippest high rise.
A limited number of spaces are available to rappel seven stories, that’s 105 feet, down the SpringHill Suites-Marriot-An HDG propery.
We’ve partnered with Over the Edge, the only urban rappelling event in the world to help us raise funds for the arts and help us climb closer to our aspirational goal of making OCALA one of the best cities for the ARTS!
To secure your spot on event day, raise just $1,000 by March 30, 2019 and we’ll have your ropes waiting for you! We’ve made it easy for you to start your own fundraising page and will provide you with ideas, strategies, and encouragement to help you over the top!
